#Ready

I'm tryna do it all tonight,
I Got Plans,
I got a certain lust for life,
As it stands,
And everything is going as right
As it can.

One thing that's safe to say about 2009 is that for everyone, me included it has meant change. From Obama to WAMO going off the air here in PGH, 09 has been big on change. My life has really been in that mode too. And it will definately be in overdrive for the next few months too. I finally (after having the job for damn near 7 months smh) start my job at PNC next week. I have really been seriously looking for apartments and finally found a few that I REALLY like and I really have a plan of moving out by October. I'm single, and been single but now I can say I'm honestly to a place where I honestly want to and am ready to meet "appropriate" women lol, can't always say that was true (we'll get into that at a later date). But the best part about all of this... I'm ready for it. Like you know sometimes when you have to take a new step in life and you aren't really ready for it or thrilled about it but it has to happen? That's not the case here, I've had time to make my moves and get to this point. I have a GREAT job. Like I really couldn't complain if I tried before everything starts. I'm blessed, to be in the situation that I'm in and to even be able to attempt to do these things I am BLESSED, period. With that said and knowing that he's on my side, I'm ready for this next step. I've really worked hard in preparation for this. I mean though to say that starting for a company in an industry that I am not familiar with at all is slightly nerve-wracking is a very, very fair statement. But I can make it. Shit I will make it. The moving out thing is cool too I think I've been ready for that. I might be biased but I know I have the best parents in the world who will support me with whatever I do and even if I decided to stay home for like a year -side eye-. But I just l-ve having my own space to do what 23 year old young professionals do lls (such a loaded statement lls) I've been pricing things for an apt like I've really been on it with everything lls. Kinda proud of me lls. But I'm just happy with where I'm and and where I'm going, not satisfied but happy. I'm grateful for how things are & where I'm at right now but I know it gets better I can feel it. To most keeping it ups the hard part, for me that's where I'm myself the most at. Stay tuned this show only gets better.

Pretty Girls: Amber.Rose.no words...literally.

Give you ice like Kobe right??

So...just to be real this chick is really one of the hottest in the game right now. If you don't think so you either a. Don't have male anatomy (and aren't an honest woman) or b. Don't have a pulse. Yea I'm talking about her, your favorite stripper's favorite ex-stripper/everybodys fave white girl, Amber.Rose.
In a funny convo with some friends a few weeks back one female coffee faced friend of mines said: "Brian, think about it, have you ever heard her speak, liiiike ever???" My response: "not important. I'm not interested in her words....not.one.bit". -shrugs- I meant it, like seriously. If you haven't got the memo, I'm deathly honest occasionally. But seriously, it's her style, swagger and sex appeal that makes her D O P E. So honestly, I don't NEED to hear her speak, I get everything I need from her from the black gossip blogs damn near daily pics of her ass (literally and figuratively). Style wise, she's not afraid to wear what she wants or do what she wants. I mean if there was any doubt just look on top of her head. In a world where dramatic and pathetic overuse of the word swag reigns supreme, as far as new girls go, hers is the only one who can hold a candle to little Miss Um-ber-ella herself Rihanna, believe it. And it also doesn't help that for as out of the ordinary and eccentric as her style is 9 times outta 10 when you see her, she's holding the hand of a black man who's had a mullett and worn stuff way too small, yes I mean Mr. West, she looks normal next to him. So she fits it. I dig it. But all jokes aside, anytime you can end up online daily, in magazines monthly and a haircut that was named after you, with 95% of the people who see you never hearing a word come out of your mouth, you are doing it. Kudos Mrs. West. Kudos. More pics beloooow.

Random Thoughts 9.6

Well alright, okay
I've been gone, and away
For too long, a mistake
But right now, I feel awake
I'm feeling like I'm back (Just like I'm back)
Said I'm feeling like I'm back (Feel like I'm back)

I missed you too no need for arguements or fighting. Can't even use the whole "I've been busy excuse. I mean I have been busy.-cough- not.blogging. but not busy per se. Whatever -shrugs- told you I do what I want but just wanted to write these, they'll come every once in a while so enjoy. These are some of my thoughts I just wrote down on last sunday.

-I hate when people try to tell me that I "expect too much"/want too much for myself, don't you dare try and corner my dreams or lower my expectations because of your lack there of. Just had to blurt that out.

-i have a steady rotation of great new music in my CD player right now and it makes me happy, its the BP3, Trey Songz' Ready, Fabolous' Loso's Way & Maxwell's BLACKsummer's night. All great music, check em out. I need to review them on here honestly. Plus I bought all of them and I am not upset about my purchases at all with any of them. Look for the reviews whenever I can figure out how to get BP3 outta my car smh.

-i have only recently realized that my best Saturday's are the ones I spend with either friends or family just hanging out annndd I l-ve it. Just having good people who you can just hang and laugh and drink in a chill environment is really the shit lls. I used to think that my Saturdays had to be filled with clubs, bars, malls and just constant movement but I dig just sitting still. Just thought I'd share that.

-Just listened to two new singles from Wale and Drake, personally my two fave young guns coming up in Hip Hop (J. Cole is gaining ground can't front) . To say that both were impressive would be an understatement. Wale's track "Ice and Rain" takes it back to the days of real storytelling hip hop, I follow dude on Twitter too (seems like a real dude who's just tryna come up and put on for his city, I dig all that), and I really liked the song like it was D O P E to me. But he said something that I really don't know if he's capable of right now, that he has way better tracks than that and that didn't even make the album -side eye- I mean I'd l-ve to be proven wrong but come on man. Maybe I think too highly of the track but, I doubt he has 15 better ones. But, prove me wrong, please. The Drake track is called Fear, personally, I dig the new music from him because I'm sure just like everyone else I have played my So Far Gone so much to the point that EVERY track skips so to hear some new music from him was refreshing. The Lyrical content was definately there, this dude speaks on success and making it in the Game like a vet. I get the "this is it?" vibe from a lot of his tracks but find them and listen to both. Definately worthwhile.

-College Football started. I'm happy. Enough Said.

ok.i was back but i'm about to post again so bye.

So this is the LEAKED copy of the video for single.number.two. off BP3. I.dig.it. I will be honest, not as much as I thought I would but it's still instantly the D O P E S T video out right now. I definately thought that there would be some actors/actresses in there or something, I mean if you had major actors in the "street single" video for D.O.A., then the crossover smash had to have someone. But one thing I will say, Rihanna.......DAMN. She looks unreal, allvideolong. She undoubtedly was the star amongst stars in this video, hands.down. Her aura (b/c I refuse to use "sw-g", its played and severely overused) in this video was so on point she did her thing to say the least. I still dig the concept of the video but I, personally, was expecting more. Maybe there's like an extended MTV version or something lls. If there isn't, its still hot. The concept alone was better than 100% of videos out now but when people hear about a Jay-Z/Yeezy/Rihanna video that has previews, its not going against what's hot now, people wanted and expected a video that would get played against the best videos ever. We'll see if it does. Take a look, let me know what you think.

And The Crowd Goes.....Silent??

And you already is a star but,
Unless your flawless,
Then ya dynasty ain't complete
without a chief like me.

So for at least 4 hours yesterday, Twitter was POPPIN lls. We brought up a topic just on a joke but it ended up being something way bigger than we thought it would be. We got a #wifeymaterial.#hubbymaterial trend "battle" going that stretched all the way to deep in VA. and through damn near the whole work day. But more interesting than the witty and creative responses from people was the way the convo ABRUPTLY when one of my boys asked the question:
@iammarcuspopeTruth.. Is an educated, well traveled, honest, opinionated, respectful, classy, beautiful, funny woman really that hard to find?

It was unreal b/c either people just completely ignored the statement or completely logged off Twitter. I really think that we had 2 females who responded to that question specifically (that I saw), there were at least 25 to 40 who were in on the conversation. -blank stare-

Now I'm sure that we could've added some other things as well but with the character limitations that Twitter has, certain things that couldn't be added but were to us, understood. It was just wild to me that everything SHUT DOWN because of that question, even when it was retweeted multiple times. STILL No Response -blank stare- The real of the situation is in my opinion, to find someone with all that plus the other "intangibles" is difficult but like I said to someone who I was talking to yesterday, I just wanna meet someone who has what the characteristics that I ask of myself (give or take a few secondary ones that can be interchangable), anything else is unfair real talk.
Oh, FYI, some of the "intangibles" that wouldn't fit were chemistry, secure, confident, presentable (might go with some of the others but ehh whatever -shrugs-), stylish and a dope sex drive. It was really just a little discouraging seeing a lot of my female friends who are D O P E, get silent -deep sigh-
But yea, ladies next time, someone questions ya'll like that, not saying that you gotta toot your own horn or say that you individually the answer to that riddle, but going on MUTE, the worst move. But I will give you my what I look for in a woman, stay tuned.

Last College Daze

You ever feel alone
in a room full of "friends"?
Wanna let em in ya head,
but you leave em in suspense?
-rick.ross

*Disclaimer: this is gonna be all over the place so bear with me

School started for my school last week, and real talk I had ZERO desire to be there at all. It was an interesting feeling to be honest. I saw all the FB statuses and all that and really looked at it like "shit, I'm happy right where I'm at." Now I'm not the type to regret anything in my life, PERIOD. I am a firm believer in that everything happens for a reason and things happen to prepare you for your future. I def don't regret my college experience, but my last year left me with a sour taste in my mouth to say the least, real talk.

Sooooo truth be told, I could've graduated over last summer, all I needed was 7 hours plus my 15 credit internship which I could've knocked out over the summer and then did my internship in the fall, but I had the opportunity to go back to undergrad for a final HURRAH, who wouldn't? So I did. Plus it was my first real whole semester being Greek and I planned on Going IN to say the least.

There were plenty of things that the last year taught me but one major one was the importance of having real friendships (Not to say that my other friendships were fake at ALL but this friendship was different). Every other semester I was down there, I had my bro down there with me. Regardless of the situation, I knew and NEVER QUESTIONED whether or not he had my back above anything else, and he knew that he didn’t have to do any of the same either. We were both BIG CITY KIDS, we thought the same way, believed in the same things, shit sometimes dressed the same way (not like that weirdos), we both were ASSHOLES lls, were into the same things and weren’t intimidated by each other like some others were, this was my dude no decepticon. We were similar, but not the same at all, alike but not into all the same things, but friends nonetheless. But he graduated in May and moved on, I mean of course we still kept up with each other, we still do, but being there, living together all that, wasn’t what it was gonna be this semester. It took me a while to realize it but that shit is hard when you feel like its just you. For the first time in my college career, it was just me.

A lot of funny stuff happened that last semester. From "friends" blaming me for their personal shortcomings, not talking to people with no reasoning said to them, LB’s turning their backs on you “because of your relationship with a mutual friend” (i guess "Bros (literally) over Hoes" isn't universal, ehh -shrugs-), people just jumping on the bandwagon because it felt like the right thing to do, but when it really gets hard is when the one person who wants to keeps you balanced and be there for you is the exact person who has people thinking crazy about you because they can’t control who they talk to about what’s “going on” knowing that some people just can’t handle certain types of conversations because they are either going through their own “situation” or they don’t have enough mental fortitude to have their own opinion and separate their relationship with you and your relationship with that person. Package all this bullshit with losing the one person who you talked to everyday and night for at that point the last 2 years in some change too that you never thought you'd lose too? It was A L O T at one time. So I’m sure you’re wondering what happened like did I blow up or whatever like that? Nope, I helped myself get by the best way I knew how, I completely engulfed myself in resume building activities (gotta stay focused on my future) and stay as busy as possible to keep myself NOT thinking about everything that was going on. I only flipped on one person, it waws deserving though. It just really got hard being the "villian" or the "bad guy" in the beginning, but after a while like a good human, you adjust and adapt, that's just what you do. You use everything as motivation in life and this was no different, if they got upset with me because I was the way I was then I was gonna get even better.

I mean it got comical at one point. People blaming your security and positivism for their insecurity and lack of direction, and look at you like you're the bad guy b/c you have some sort of plan after college in comparison to their confusion and utter complacency with being where they are. Look and let me make one thing clear, I do not believe that we are all supposed to be "big city people" or "into the life", but what I knew about me was that that place, was not f o r m e, period, so I treated it like what it was, and maybe to some that was what they were comfortable with but it wasnt that for me. I always knew that I would leave that place and not ever want to live there, this is one reason that I was really happy that I met the type of people that I met once I came back home. Like minded, driven, focused but still have the attitude that “WE PARTY BETTER THAN YOU” too, I l-ve it. Coming from that to this has really been a GODsend. I really didn't know what to think or how it would be especially with one of my best friends in Cleveland, another in Arizona and the other (who lives in PGH) in Kuwait protecting the world.

That last year really changed helped me a lot with being comfortable in my own skin and with who i am as a person. It also impacted how I felt about a lot with college and certain people and lots of things like that and showed me the importance of friendships and family. It also showed me that no matter how good of a friend you think youre being to someone, they still have their own mind and think what they want to. Real talk, when my bro was there it was cool, I knew that good or bad we had each others back above all. I learned how to have my own back.

Sexiness.part.one.

And nah she ain't step in blood,
those are Louby's.

So I have a confession (this isn't any heavy Usher confessions stuff, but bear with me), I l-ve women's shoes, (PAUSE:: NOT ON ME, ON THEM YOU PERVS::)scratch that, I l-ve SEXY WOMEN'S SHOES. Now, when I see the combo of sexy women in sexy ass shoes too -drifting off into my thoughts- it's a wonderful thing. Since as far back as I can remember, I've ALWAYS been into fashion, looking fly, and rocking the hot s#%t of tomorrow, today, but a few summer's back I worked at ALDO and that's when my infatuation for shoes shoes took off. It was always funny because I was good at what I did so anytime an attractive female came in looking to get some shoes, I only showed them the best ones we had, not necessarily the priciest, but the sexiest. I l-ve creative shoes too, like something that was a little daring to buy, like those shoes where you say "Oh I dont have anything to wear with those, but they are B A D," yea those ones. Plus, I had to be pretty decent at what I did because more often than not, they left there with those shoes. I mean it's only right for the sexiest girl to have matching shoes too, right? Now I will always and FOREVER be a face man first (meaning that the first thing that I see with and about you is your face and everything else is secondary), but a sexy face on top of sexy shoes with red bottoms.... no comment. Recently all the pub in the shoe game has been about these Christian Louboutin's, affectionately known in major Hip Hop circles as Loubies (you know we gotta make everything our own -ehh-) with the signature red bottoms on the bottom of every shoe. There are just certain shoes that if whoever you talking to has them on, you want her to keep them on. Catch my drift??? Now I can't vouch for every pair of Loubies style wise but I can say they get it right more than they get it wrong and more than most others. These both are definately examples of keep them on heels. Fellas show ya girls, ladies show ya man, Thank Me Later.

Oh, the pair on the bottom, are Giuseppe Zanotti Leopard Print heels on everyone's fave Cassie. They can say what they want about the girl, she's d o p e. she takes chances and isn't afraid to fail fashion wise, I gotta bang with her for that. I really gotta look hard to see if I've ever seen her in some BASIC heels. ithinknot. two thumbs up Cassie, two thumbs up.
